 IN 1987, the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) created the long-haul rebate to attract more vessels. The rebate is granted based on an application to be submitted by your nominated agent to the SCA. The following main parameters are taken into account when calculating this rebate: 

• 1・ Last port of origin & first port of destination
• 2・ A comparison between the distance of the Suez route and of other routes
• 3・International market condition for vessels’ time charter
• 4・Whether the vessel is laden or in ballast
• 5・Daily bunker price fluctuations
